internet conection problems

Hey im posting this to help a m8 out, basically his dell laptop is not working right after he wiped his computer using the xp disc, when he done he could use his computer but he has no networks, no inteernet connection, so he cant connect to the internet using a enthra cable or wirless.
iv tired
-instailing his isp disc but it still wont conect becuase it has no connection type
-used the disc that came with the laptop tried instaling the drivers etc from them still no luck nothing showed up
-setting up a lan and still no luck


so anyhelp. what i should run etc

i recommend installing xp again and wiping everything to start cos some files may not of been copied correctly the other time.

this happened to my sisters laptop u need to install the wireless (if he has it)and then put lyk a big password in wots on the bottom of the wireless box

it myt not be the same but thats wot we did

thanks guys, your help is good but im sure wont work becuase its missing the hole drivers the lot and all discs he got with it i put in and upload all drivers but then all still missing. hes getting a imac in '08 onse he finds a new job etc. just he needs his old one working just now, so hes poping into pcworld and get some guy to look at it for free, he did this last time when somthing else broke and work. but i was just trying to fix this out just incase, or to save him the hastle.
i think ill find some stuff on the internet. btw does dell have a forum or somthing
